In Vegas Pay Homage to the 9/11 Victims

By: John Reed

Vegas is one city that takes the fun and games seriously, and why not? It is arguably the rapture capital of the world. At times and places, the fun takes a back seat and for good. One such place is the 9/11 memorial in Las Vegas, dedicated to the lasting memory of all those carmens that lost their lives in that despicable act of terror. You can visit the memorial and pay your homage, and pray for the departed souls and their bereaved families. It is one pristine place, where you can derive a lot of peace as well. For obvious reasons this place merits a visit, not for the destruction caused on that sinister day, but due to the innocent lives lost.

This memorial came about spontaneously and not because of any planning. Interestingly enough, the place where people expressed their grief through flowers, cards and wreaths etc, post 9/11, was later transformed into a permanent memorial for the 9/11 victims. The place features some of the things that were placed by grief stricken people, who poured in their love for the victims at this place. I personally find such places ideal for introspection or a material disconnect. The atmosphere is conducive for wholeheartedly withdrawing from worldly worries, even if for few minutes. What ever you do, but try and not curse the wrong-doers, instead, pray from the most tender depths of your heart for peace.
